Luis Fabiano breaks through with Copa winne

Sao Paulo striker Luis Fabiano has broken his goal drought in his second spell in Brazil.
The former Sevilla star scored the only goal 15 minutes from time in the Tricolor's 1-0 defeat of Libertad on Wednesday, handing the Brazilians a narrow lead after the first leg of their Copa Sudamericana clash.

The clubs will play the second match of the last-16 tie in Asuncion next Wednesday.

As well as being the first time he had scored since returning to Sao Paulo in March, the goal marked the Brazil international's 120th strike with the club.

The winner came after Fabiano controlled Dagoberto's nod-down perfectly, before blasting past the Paraguyan side's keeper Medina.

Fabiano revealed after the match that he was thrilled to get on the scoresheet, despite being far from his best.

"Life is like that. Sometimes you don't play brilliantly, and you end up scoring. Against Atletico GO I had a great first half, I had chance but I couldn't find the net," the striker said.

"Now I have to just carry on working hard and I will get better. This result gives us a little bit of breathing space."

Fabiano and Sao Paulo are back in action on Sunday, when they take on Coritiba at home.
