Pedrosa the one to beat in Sepang

Dani Pedrosa led champion Casey Stone home in Free Practice 2 at the Malaysian MotoGP in Sepang on Friday.
Pedrosa backed up his best time in Practice 1 with the fastest lap of 2 minutes 1.250 seconds, 0.820s ahead of Repsol Honda team-mate Stoner.

After dominating the morning session, the pair exchanged the lead a few times before Pedrosa was able to pull clear.

Pedrosa's blistering lap in P2 beat his morning mark by 0.7s and was under the time set for 2010 pole.

Another Repsol Honda rider in Andrea Dovizioso came in third, 1.414s behind, while the San Carlo Honda Gresini machine of Marco Simoncell was fourth at 1.573s adrift.

Test rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga, who stepped in to replace the injured Jorge Lorenzo for Yamaha Factory Racing, finished 17th in Practice 1 and could not better that the second time around, crashing on turn 13 to bring up the rear.

Colin Edwards was sixth on his Monster Yamaha Tech 3, with Alvaro Bautista of Suzuki in seventh and Ben Spies ninth on his Yamaha Factory ride.
